Composition & Production

Music is a personal passion and I am constantly recording, experimenting and creating music using the most up to date methods and software.

Evil Ear is not limited to one genre and I have been happy to make Rock, Reggae, Funk, Electronic, Pop, Acoustic and Soundtrack.

In addition to writing music on DAW software, I am a keen guitarist and bassist with plenty of experience playing drums, keys, harmonica, synthesizers and the didgeridoo.

I can help with:

- Composing soundtracks and background music.

- Editting, mixing and mastering audio to modern standards.

- Building on existing musical ideas.

- Taking MIDI files and recreating them with realistic VST instruments.

Rock Music Production

Rock was my introduction to music and is still the genre of music that I know best. I know how it should sound and I have the tools to get it sounding huge and then mastered to modern streaming standards. Here are some tracks that I have mixed for Rock bands:

Individuator: Progressive Metal band based in Yorkshire. Tight, riff-driven music who just need a vocalist to become the next biggest band in Metal.

The Sudden Movements: Born out of a home studio in a long lockdown. Erratic, complex melodies smoothed out into solid grooves.

Acoustic Recordings

As an acoustic guitarist I have been perfecting my recording methods for years and I am able to record a wide range of instruments and voices.

Being on the move, I have had to learn to seek out great acoustic spaces and set up inside as a recording studio. I am happy to have recorded so many talented acts in a more comfortable and authentic space than a studio.

I can help with:

- Recording guitars, vocals and other acoustic instruments in pleasant acoustic spaces.

- Overdubbing tracks.

- Mixing and mastering these tracks to modern streaming standards.
